I got married! (again)

No not to a second husband.. a second wedding to my first husband. We did the legal bit back in April 2023 and now it was time for the party. Here's everything that I handmade for the wedding weekend (that I can remember).

We chose Marrakech, Morocco and let me tell you it was dreeeeamy.

For my mini wedding I hand-embroidered each guest a napkin with their name on it, that was doable for 20 people but 58 felt like another thing. I also painted candles and did my own flowers.. whew!

It wouldn't have been a Stitch Sister wedding without something handmade but I didn't want to overwhelm myself with DIY jobs (my brain leans very much towards overwhelm) so I was super selective and these are the elements I made myself for my wedding weekend.

Think minimal effort, high impact!

Engraved chopsticks

Ok no technically I didn't make them myself, I ordered these engraved with my *new* surname and wedding date, and then tied each pair in a thin black bow because *trends*. This was a bit of a gamble because I ordered them soooo last minute but they really made the perfect memento for us because we met in Hong Kong.

I added the chopsticks to welcome bags that we left in each guest's room along with hydration salts, snacks, safety pins, an itinerary, a guide of things to get up to in Marrakech and a hand-written thank you note.

I ordered them here and paid about US$20 plus delivery for 80 pairs.

Polaroid thank you cards

I totally copied this idea from a friend, with permission (thank you again Molly). Love how these turned out, so special and thoughtful. I made them for my bridesmaids, mother & father-in-law, husband and my girls delivered them the morning of the wedding.

I ordered the polaroid camera, film, glue and blank cards all off Amazon and wrote them in the days leading up to the wedding weekend when I was feeling all full of love.

Here's the links to the polaroid camera & blank cards.

Hand-embroidered handkerchiefs

Obviously I had to have something embroidered on my wedding day. For my husband and in-laws, I sewed them a handkerchief each as a special keepsake for the day.

I found these beautiful cotton handkerchiefs with scalloped edges and kept it super simple, sewing my design with a Back Stitch.

I would love to bring embroidered napkins & handkerchiefs out - either made by me (with a waitlist) or as a DIY kit for you to sew yourself 🫶. I'll keep milling this over!

Temporary Tattoos

On the third and final day of our wedding weekend in Marrakech we had a pool party at our hotel. Obvs we had used up 98% of our budget at this point but I still wanted to have some nice touches on the last day. I set up a temporary tattoo station with Etsy templates for the signage.

I designed 3 tattoos - a couple of line drawings and my fav photo of Ms Marge. I ordered them here.

*Obviously I don't get any money from those links - just being a helpful girls girl.
